When I was young, I would spend hours looking through our photo albums. Back then, I wasn’t sure why I liked it so much. But now, I know its when my love of photography started–the art of preserving memories, stories, and love in a 4x6 piece of paper.
I have always been the friend in my group with the camera or camcorder. I’d make my mom buy me a disposable for every field trip, starting in Kindergarten. In middle school, I had a hot pink Nikon CoolPix. I used my high school graduation money to purchase my first ever DSLR. Although my cameras have changed throughout the years, my love for photography has not.
Now, as a wife and a mom of 3, I’ve learned to appreciate the in-between moments. The quiet 5-10 minutes I get to drink my hot coffee before chaos unfolds, the smiles that I see on my kids’ faces when they don’t know I’m looking, the rush of getting everyone into the van quickly, the quick wink from my husband as he passes me in the house, the tiny voice begging for one more story or hug. These moments, though small, are everything–they are my joy. As a photographer, I use my camera and eye for the in-between to document your joy so you can appreciate it too.
My job is the coolest–I get to capture the moments that you’re desperate to hold onto so that you can remember and share them forever. I get to help you see the love that surrounds you. I can’t think of anything more rewarding than that.
A sweet gift for you...
